Welcome to Save a Heart of Utah! We offer public and private CPR and first aid certification classes taught in Spanish or English upon request. Certifications are valid for 2 years. We take pride in making classes effective and enjoyable.

Certifications:
CPR /AED/BLS TRAINING CAB and Hands Only
- The CPR/AED/BLS certification course is designed to create competent responders that follow the Save A Heart course guidelines. The certification will be valid for 2 years. The CPR/AED/BLS course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, automated external defibrillation, and proper use of naloxone to treat opioid overdose. To become certified, at the conclusion of this class, the learner must be able to demonstrate the accurate steps of CPR, demonstrate the proper use of an AED, demonstrate methods used to relieve choking, and demonstrate competency in treating opioid overdose.

FIRST AID TRAINING
- Includes Course Outline Booklet
- The participant must demonstrate competency in topics covered in the basic/wilderness first aid course. Such topics will include injury and illness identification and response, scene size up, as well as treatment options. For example, the participant will learn to identify burns, cuts, broken bones, and to quickly decide what type of ointment, bandage, or stabilizer to use on an injured person. Other major first aid topics include methods for dealing with the following emergencies:
- Burns
- Bug/Animal bites
- Broken bones
- Hypothermia
- Shock
- Poison
- Breathing issues
- Diabetic shock
- Heart attack
- Stroke
- Hydration methods
- Concussions
- Convulsions
- Heat exhaustion/Heat stroke
- Blood loss
- Bleed Control protocols
- Legal considerations and role as first responder
- Save A Heart classes will describe the Trauma Kit and what items should be in an effective Trauma Kit tailored to meet the needs of your occupancy.

BLOOD BOURNE PATHOGEN TRAINING ALSO AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST
*If you lose or damage your CPR/AED/BLS, First Aid, or Blood Bourne Pathogen certifications, the cost is $17 per card to replace them.
